What to put in the first email
None of this is compulsory — a two-line message is a perfectly good start. But the more of it you include, the more useful our first reply will be, and the less likely we are to waste a meeting establishing facts you already knew.
- What the organisation does, and roughly how many people work in it.
- The problem as you would describe it to a colleague — symptoms are more useful than a proposed solution.
- What you have already tried, including any vendor or software that did not work out.
- Whether there is a date you are working towards, such as an audit, a season or a tender.
- Whether you would rather meet at your premises, at our office, or over a call.
